Platinum Hits are a select line of Xbox games that have sold over 400,000 copies in the nine months after their release dates. This series has always been a gamer’s savior when it comes to saving a buck or two. Games such as Burnout 3: Takedown, Call of Duty 3, Madden 05, and Max Payne have all received platinum status. If you are a little lax when it comes to keeping up on all the newest releases, box uses the Platinum Series as a way to entice gamers into buying at a reduced price.
Today it was announced that Halo 2 will finally be promoted to Platinum status. The game will now drop from its original $39.99 price to a more affordable $19.99, making this a must have for anyone who missed the second installment in the series. The only downfall to this price reduction is the fact that they reconfigured the cover art. So instead of seeing Master Chief in all his glory, your eyes will train on the gigantic Platinum Hits logo along with an excerpt that reminds you of how well Halo sold, calling it “the best selling Xbox game ever.” This in my eyes is a small price to pay for such a memorable classic, and my suggestion is “BUY IT!”

Really how often does anyone look at the box art after you purchase the game.
