Hey, here's a riddle for you. What do the Halo 3 beta and brussel sprouts have in common? Give up? I barely touched either one of them over the last month!
And before you start speculating as to a good reason why, don't assume that I didn't have a copy of
Crackdown. I did. I bought one long ago, before I knew there was the Halo 3 beta. And yet, I didn't play it, short of one 15-minute span where I just sort of wandered around a map and occasionally got shot by a 13-year old.
Does that make me a bad person? A bad gamer?
Maybe it does, considering at last count, 820,000 people took part in the beta that ran from May 16 to June 10. I wasn't one of them. I just didn't have the interest. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably pre-order the game, but as far as the beta, I just wasn't that interested in playing a few multi-player levels. I want to play the actual campaign. Don't ask me why. But feel free to ridicule.
I've let you down, Papa. I'm sorry.
I enjoyed the Beta, had some good fun with it. Too many shooters these days try to incorporate all sorts of fancy bells and whistles that derail the whole standard shooter formula, and usually don't work. I like a good solid shooter, even if it's a bit basic...still better than Shadowrun.
Yeah... it was downloaded at work... we played it... once? twice? It's fine, its all well and good, but, as is pointed out very clearly here, it is just another arena shooter. Gimme a campaign...!
