This isn't really a game-related blog, please forgive me! I am just posting an update to everyone on our baby fox.
We had planned earlier (if anyone remembers.. or knew) on getting an arctic fox. And well, these plans were kind of.. changed. In a nutshell.
One thing led to another. We now have Charlie. He is a 33 day old red fox kit, and he is just the love of my life! At his vet checkup our breeder had learned he is very much blind now - his eyes have not open up until his 3rd week - we are not 100% sure if he will gain some or any of his sight later in life, or if it can be surgically corrected when he has matured. But it is of very little concern to us. He is perfectly able to find things and get into trouble by touch and smell.
I have not been online (or on the computer.. or on any system for that matter) for quite some time, because he is taking up every single drop of joy that's squeezed from my life.
He is amazingly adapted for being such a sightless little thing. Sometimes when we cuddle up and watch tv together, he stares off in the distance as if he were watching too.
Charlie plays with a little ball, tackles us on the sofa when we're not paying attention and meows like a cat. He is teething and likes to chew and suck our fingers for comfort. It is really funny when my boyfriend says, 'Ouch!! Charlie bit me!" because I seriously don't think he's seen the youtube video.
He bottle feeds 3 times a day now, down from 5. Some nights he will wake me up for it. But he has been good the past two nights and he is eating some semi-solids.
I really don't mean to sound sappy. He is just, completely the highlight of my life.. a little momma's boy. I don't have kids or a dog or cat or anything high maintenance (I don't consider reptiles or fish a very high maintenance pet), but man I totally know why moms are just crazy over their babies now. Plus he is like, even cuter than a pug. And that's seriously saying something.

You can see him (and my foot) on this album, as well as the other loves of my life. I miss GV a lot and all you GVers out here, but I'll definitely spy on you like a creeper after college lets out next week

I just looked at your pics and he is one of the most adorable creatures I have ever seen. By the way, damn you got a bunch of pets. Me=Sonic the Ferret, Mackenzie the anti-social calico cat
Non-gaming blogs are just as good as gaming ones...I write them all the time. As for Charlie I'm quite upset to hear that he is blind that's really sad. Hopefully his vision will get better, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and him. Glad to hear he finally arrived. Now I can tell people I know someone who has a fox for a pet : )
I have a Shiba Inu that kinda loks like a fox. He also kinda looks like a teddy bear, too, though.
charlie! i was just talking about how gorgeous of an animal foxes are. at least he's got a good home now. we won't be going anywhere!
Puxel, the license you need to get depends on the situation, city, state, county, township and country.
We have a state license and a county license. We do not live in city limits. We do have a wildlife rehabilitation license, but we have had it for awhile because we are legally required to register any snake over 4' long. It is not required in our state for foxes.
I am seriously considering getting a pet fox at sometime in my life, but I didn't know if you needed a license, or where I could find one. Charlie is insanely cute. I needed something light hearted to read at the end of this stressful week. Thanks.
