It’s an aspect of the gaming industry that often goes unnoticed, even when you’re looking right at it.  In terms of marketing, it’s one of the most important elements when it comes to establishing a game’s image, but also an element that is rarely talked about.  I’m talking about game fonts.  Every game has one, whether it’s the pop art 80’s nostalgia of the Pac-Man font or the sleek metallic lines of the Too Human font, but only the best ones give you insight into a game’s content while also leaving an indelible visual impression of their own.  

To test your familiarity with these game fonts, we’ve assembled a little test for you.  Below is a certain motto that you’re no doubt familiar with, made up of 31 letters taken from 31 different game fonts.  The games range from modern to classic and arcade to console, but all of them are well-known titles released (or soon to be released) in America.  Not all of the letters are the first letter in the game’s title, so you’ll need to look closely and tap into the many years worth of game font knowledge you may not even realize that you’ve accumulated.  Whoever comes up with the most correct answers will win an official Gamervision prize pack valued at around $100.00.

To enter the contest, simply look over the motto and send an email to editor@gamervision.com with as many answers as you can come up with.  Make sure you number each answer.  For example, the “G” in “Gamervision” is letter 1, and the “G” in “Gamers” is letter 15.  Some of the letters can be found in multiple games within a franchise.  In those cases, the name of the franchise is acceptable.  All entries must be received by Sunday, August 31 at midnight.  The contest winner will be announced on Monday, September 1.
