Soul Calibur IV drops this week, and whether you love the idea of Jedi and Sith combatants or hate it, the game is sure to be a hit. For most of the week, you’ll probably find me online, battling it out with my custom (read: bikini-clad) version of Sophitia. I’ll be splitting a good chunk of the rest of my time between my ongoing season of MLB 2K8 (Go Phils!) and trying desperately to finish the last few challenges in Skate, which have eluded me for many months.
With all the talk of upcoming super hero games like Champions Online, DC Universe Online, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion, I’ve finally broken down and reinstated my City of Heroes account. After 6 hours of downloading the newest version of the game (I kid you not. Six motherflipping hours!), I finally got my account back and started creating a new character. Here’s the problem; I just can’t seem to settle on a concept for a hero. I’ve tried out a character named Fahrenheit, a fire and ice controller, but I couldn’t get the costume to look any less than ludicrous. I tried out a barbarian-type tanker, but the thought of doing nothing but wading into battle, swinging my war mace mindlessly didn’t seem that appealing. Every idea I come up with has some massive flaw that makes me restart the character creation process. Seriously, I’ve started about 25 characters and I haven’t played a second of the actual game! It’s almost like a sickness. Anyone feel like helping me out with a good character idea? Male/female, hero/villain, human/robot – doesn’t matter. If it’s a good idea, I’ll use it.
Other than that, I’ll definitely be catching the IMAX version of Dark Knight, because I figure they could use the money, and re-reading Watchmen for the first time this year. I try to read it once a year, but I’ve been slacking since 2006, so I’m way overdue. If you’ve never read the book, I suggest you go buy a trade paperback copy ($20) and read it immediately. Then read it two more times to really “get” it.

Soul Calibur IV, Geometry Wars 2, and a healthy (and heaping) dose of Battlefield: Bad Company. I also want to make sure I download the PS3 demo for Naruto, just cuz.
Burnout Paradise, Geometry Wars 2, and SC4, depending on if I get it or not.
I already filled my Watchmen quota for 2008 so now I'm finishing Y: the Last Man. Oh also i guess I've played some games too.
Not much at all. Just packing my stuff and moving into a new place. Once settled many hours of gaming shall commence!
Soul Calibur 4. I need 8 more gates in Burnout so I'll spend alll night looking for those too. Izuna 2 looks good too.
Hopefully picking up Siren on PS3 this week. More Civ, MLB the Show 08, and just maybe I'll try and get back into GTA IV... really need to finish that.
I'll be in Portland, Oregon all week long, so I won't be playing much except for Coop's DS copy of Civ: Revolution.
I also like to read the Watchmen every year! And, not surprisingly, I've been in the mood to read it again since seeing the movie trailer.
Also, lots of Civ, finishing off FFX (which I neglected while on vacation), and more Civ! Just one more turn, for reals.
