- GTA MMO A Possibility
- Posted 4 months, 2 weeks ago by Veggie Jackson

Last week we reported on the possibility of a Call of Duty MMO. The response was mixed, with comments ranging from “I think this could turn out to be a really awesome idea“ to “NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!” Well, get ready for more mixed reactions, because Rockstar founder Sam Houser seems to be leaning towards taking the Grand Theft Auto franchise into the online world. In an interview with EGM, Houser stated that turning GTA into an MMO "is very, very doable and is a very, very compelling proposition.", going so far as to call an massively multiplayer online console-based GTA the “Holy Grail.”
Does that mean it’s going to happen? Of course not. At least not immediately. Rockstar is focusing on the release of GTA IV, which is sure to be a monster hit. There is, however, an upcoming title from Webzen and Realtime Worlds called “All Points Bullettin” that looks to be a GTA-inspired MMO. It has no hard release date, but is currently set to drop sometime this year, and could act as a test balloon for a true online Liberty City/Vice City/San Andreas experience. We’ll keep you updated if there’s anything to update you with.

hey, soulscreme's back.
NOOOO how could they.....
For me, the most frustrating part about current MMO's is having to grind for gold to afford the best stuff. It'll be a nice change to base a game's economic system on stealing shit...
I'll wait to see whether or not GTA IV sucks (have a feeling it will) before I decide whether or not to care about this.
