- Hideo Kojima Starting New Franchise For Konami

The Metal Gear Franchise is one of gaming’s most profitable and acclaimed series. The mastermind behind the cryptic stealth action titles, Hideo Kojima, is likewise one of the industry’s most respected and admired personalities. For the last decade, Mr. Kojima has focused almost entirely on the Metal Gear series, crafting intense stealth sequences, intriguing antagonists and baffling storylines. Now, with MGS 4 shipping soon, it seems he is finally done with the franchise, and will begin working on a new, unrevealed project.
Don’t expect any info on what the project may entail any time soon, either. Konami has stated that no announcement would be made about it this year, and that for the time being, Hideo will be helping push Metal Gear Solid 4 and Metal Gear Online.
If you had your druthers, what kind of title would you like to see Kojima work on? A brand new IP, an existing license, or something totally off the charts? Knowing Kojima, whatever the project is, it will be epic, gorgeous, innovative and utterly confusing. Just how we like it.

There is nothing quite like Metal Gear Solid, and I really have a hard time imagining what Hideo will do. Whatever it is, I will preorder it and book some time off of work.
