New Street Fighter 4 Character Revealed
Posted 9 months, 2 weeks ago by Veggie Jackson

"With no memory of his past, this young man has no choice but to move forward, using any clue he can get his hands on to rout out what may be left of Shadaloo. His fighting style represents a mix of multiple martial arts. Though he appears gruff and unfriendly on the surface, he is not the misanthrope he seems to be. His serious and polite nature is easy to misinterpret as indifference, but these still waters run deep indeed."

This is Capcom’s description of the second new character announced for the upcoming Street Fighter 4, Abel.  The biblically-named mystery man looks to be American or possibly British by nationality, and his acrimony towards Shadaloo tentatively puts him in the "good guy" camp, but that's about all we know, other than his soap opera-ish amnesia and an apparent difficulty making friends. Click on the images below for the full hi-res pics.

As character designs go, I'm gonna have to give him a "meh" out of 10.  I don't know about you, but he reminds me of classic Street Fighter pushover Dan.  That's not necessarily a good thing.  Abel is the second new character after Crimson Viper, and I gotta tell you. I'm not all that impressed with either one.  I'm glad we're getting all the SF2 originals back, but Capcom has to add some better new fighters than these two.  And can we PLEASE see a background other than the Japanese market that's been in EVERY image so far?  Is that so much to ask?

Oh man, my life won't be complete til' this game comes out. They could pull a KoF and add so many characters, that they don't really have a substantial plot for everyone. No complaints there (:. Their plots in every game really aren't super amazing anyways. It's basically a 2-player+ game. No fun in it unless you're really kicking someone's ass and whooping in their face.

I can only hope his brother Cain shows up...he's way cooler anyway. It's hard to get excited for these characters without playing them.
