- Pitfall: The Big Adventure Coming To Wii
- Posted 3 months, 2 weeks ago by Veggie Jackson
Remakes of classic games are all the rage right now. With Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff and Bionic Commando coming later this year, it seems that, title by title, gaming’s golden age is being revitalized and brought into glorious HD. Today, an announcement by Activision adds another classic to the list, and it’s one that will excite a lot of old-school gamers. Pitfall: The Big Adventure is in development by Reality’s Edge, and will be coming to the Wii. According to Activision’s press release, the game will be “set in the Peruvian jungle” and will “combine the action of reptile dodging and vine swinging with clever puzzles” in “over 60 levels spanning lush rainforests, creature-filled caves, and glacial mountains,” and will “take advantage of the Wii motion sensing controls.”

Judging from the screens, we're looking at a port of the 2004 release, Pitfall: The Lost Expedition, presumably with motion controls, additional content and slightly improved graphics. Not sure if that's a good thing or not, but I was hoping for a complete re-envisioning.

NOOOOO.....they made it look so corny. I wish they would have at least made Pitfall Harry a little more realistic looking.
