Take Two Considering BioShock MMO, Movie?
Posted 8 months, 1 weeks ago by Veggie Jackson

Most people who are following the EA/Take Two takeovr story believe that EA will eventually throw enough money at the Take Two shareholders to get what they want.  Not Executive Chairman, Strauss Zelnick, though.  In an attempt to sway shareholders and board members from caving to EA’s offer, Mr. Z and Take Two put out a document yesterday that speaks of every reason to retain Take Two’s independence.  Apparently, it consists of ten pages of “GTA IV WILL BE HUGE!!!!” in extra bold, 200 point type, but there’s also this interesting bit about potential untapped opportunities:

A BioShock MMO?  A BioShock MOVIE?!?!  Would that count as milking the franchise?  I believe it would.  But I also believe that, if done right, a BioShock movie could be f%#&ing awesome.  As for an MMO based in Rapture, that one I’m not so sure about.  The idea of BioShock on mobile platforms is more feasible, and therefore infinitely less interesting.  This is all wild speculation, of course, so nothing to get too excited (or upset) about yet, but it’s certainly worthy of some raised eyebrows.  I’m starting casting calls now, so Vin Diesel, there’s a Big Daddy suit with your name all over it.

Am I the only one who has a problem with the phrase "Potential Untapped Opportunities"?!?

Opportunities, by nature have potential and anything with potential has yet to be tapped. Just seems like a triple redundancy to me....

My guess is that Michael Bay will get the Bioshock movie rights and run it into the ground. Or water. Or whatever.

It annoys me when companies who have no experience in RPGs whatsoever believe that they have the possibility of entering the MMO market.

Oh, and let the milking begin.
