- THQ Gets Rights To Marvel’s Super Hero Squad
- Posted About 1 month ago by Veggie Jackson
Activision, Sega, 2K Games, EA, and Konami all have licenses for Marvel’s stable of heroes and villains. Since it’s a party, why not add another? THQ announced today that they have signed on with the comic publisher to make games based on the “Super Hero Squad” line of action figures. For those unfamiliar with the figures, they are adorably semi-super-deformed versions of Marvel’s most popular heroes, fighting a never-ending battle to keep Super Hero City safe from the equally adorable forces of evil.
According to THQ, the games will be aimed at a younger audience, presumably in hopes of capturing a portion of the lucrative LEGO game market. The first title is set for a 2009 release, and will probably come out for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PC, Mac, PSP, PS2, Leapfrog, N-Gage, iPod, Atari Lynx, Vectrex and the abacus.
