- Uwe Boll's Postal Opening on Four Screens
- Posted 6 months, 2 weeks ago by Vigo the Carpathian
Uwe Boll sucks. That's pretty much established at this point, and I'll brook no argument to the contrary. All of his movies so far have been somewhere between awful and God-awful, and his upcoming "film" Postal promsises to be yet another craptacular mess. But don't worry, unlike some of his movies, this one won't be making it to wide release.
Four screens. That's it. The movie will be appearing on four screens in the whole country. Here's Boll's press release/rationalization for the nationwide snub;
Theatrical distributors are boycotting Postal because of its political content. We were prepared to open on 1500 screens all across America on May 23rd. Any multiplex in the U.S. should have space for us, but they're afraid... We have even tried to buy a few screens in New York and Los Angeles, and they won't let us even rent the theaters! I urge independent exhibitors to contact us and book 'Postal'! Audiences have been expecting the film and I don't think exhibitors should censor what gets played in U.S. theaters.
I'm no fan of censorship, myself, but maybe, just this once, it'd be best to prevent folks from being exposed to this particular abomination. Or maybe it's not censorship at all. Maybe the theater owners just have a modicum of taste. Hard to believe, but it's possible, I guess.

It actually changed and opened up on 13 screens. Why? I dunno.
Why is he still making movies
Too many screens. I agree with Sean. I hope he stops because of this. The only problem that I have is that he'll keep coming at the movie and video game industries telling stories of falsehoods and such about their dealings with him.
UWE BOLL! DON'T MAKE ANY MORE FEATURES! DON'T MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO MAKE FEATURES! DON'T BREATH!
Well the bioshock movie is the only one I want to see (not done by him gladly)
4 screens too many if you ask me...
Maybe he'll stop making movies.
(I think he might kill himself soon.)
This is absolutely hilarious.
Good GOD. I feel like his whole career has been based on a bet.
"I bet I can make the dumbest fucking movies EVER!"
I would pay upwards of $2000 to kick him in the balls.
