Dead Space pushed forward!?
Posted 3 months ago by Voyou San

Well it is def. a nice change of pace to see a game pushed forward, even if it is only a week. Are you guys looking forward to this?

Well this is a pleasant change from how things normally go down. EA's survival horror space shooter Dead Space, once slated for the October 31st release date coveted by scary games everywhere, has been pushed forward. See? It doesn't seem natural, does it? EA released a statement in Europe earlier today stating that the console versions of the game would be hitting store shelves on October 24th, a full week earlier than originally announced. The North American version is due out a few days earlier on the 21st, because we like our games earlier in the week for some odd reason. Note that the European PC version is still scheduled for Halloween. Gamestop here in the U.S. lists it for a release alongside the console versions, but they have been wrong in the past.

So the game loses some of it's spooky Halloween ambiance, but that's more than made up by how frighteningly well EA is handling this title.

DEAD SPACE RELEASE BROUGHT FORWARD
EA's New Survival Horror IP Moves in early

London, UK – August 29, 2008 – Electronic Arts today announced that its new sci-fi survival horror game Dead Space™ will now be coming to stores on October 24th for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, the Xbox 360™ videogame and entertainment system, and October 31st for PC.
The decision to bring it to fans earlier was due to completing the game early. Having spent months of polishing, it will soon be ready to scare gamers across the UK.

It's not the renting that I fear it's it "what if this game's so screwed up on its surface?" that scares me. I had a game from Gamefly once that halted my PS2. Haven't rented games since.

What if the cardboard box was padded with some sort of foam? I mean, they do put crazy people in those rooms. I'm sure they can make an exception, don't you?

Sounds good....@evry gamer out there....that is why I rent and only buy a few games nowadays....living in a cardboard box isn't comfortable.....

I'm with Mattingly and Voyou... my game cup runneth over while my wallet feels the pinch of depletion.

Now there's too many games of interest coming out within such a short period of time. Good thing there's a break in the week but still.

As much as I want this game it won't matter when it comes out because I don't think I can afford to spend anymore money on games for a while. Several hundred dollars in pre-orders are waiting to attack my wallet.

I wonder why they moved it up. Wasn't the whole point of the Oct. 31st release date to play off of Halloween?

I wish it was getting pushed forward a week here. Like there's not already enough games coming out on Oct. 21
