19 Part One: Boot Camp is a military training simulator. The package allows gamers to experience -- through their Commodore 64 units -- the types of drills and exercises that a military recruit would be expected to undergo in boot camp. The game has four different activities.
The first is Jeep training. Players have to drive a Jeep through a course littered with rocks, barrels, and other obstacles. Players must complete these courses within an allotted time limit to be successful and pass to the next course. The Jeep has a limited health gauge, which decreases each time it strikes an obstacle. If the Jeep's health bar is reduced to zero, the vehicle is destroyed and the player fails the course. Players can also fail the course by not completing it in time.
The second training exercise is an obstacle course that must be completed under the time limit to progress. The third exercise consists of stationary target shooting. Players view a target from a first-person perspective and also have a magnified view of a specific section of the target range with a crosshair, indicating where the bullet will go when the gun is shot. Players must track the pop-up targets, maneuver them into the magnified view, and shoot them before they disappear again. The fourth and final exercise involves hand-to-hand combat training. ~ Kyle Knight, All Game Guide
