64 O-Sumo 2 is an interactive interpretation of sumo wrestling. Developed and published by Bottom Up in Japan, 64 O-Sumo 2 is the sequel to the company's first wrestling simulation, 64 O-Sumo. A vast selection of fictitious wrestlers can be selected. Players can choose to pit these grapplers against each other in several different modes of play, including two-player scraps, tournaments, and leagues. Sumo wrestlers are rated according to their strengths and weaknesses, and detailed profiles that outline weight, height, and other statistics are also available.
Action commands are mapped to the controller's C-buttons while control of the wrestlers themselves is performed using the analog stick. In keeping with the rules of sumo, 64 O-Sumo 2's bouts are won by dislodging one's rival from the ring. 64 O-Sumo 2's main single-player mode is entitled "Yokozuna." The goal is for players to train a wrestler and enter him in tournaments and competitions throughout his career. The ultimate aim is to guide one's wrestler from humble beginnings to become Yokozuna, champion of Japan. ~ Jonti Davies, All Game Guide
