Humongous Entertainment has combined its educational offering Big Thinkers: First Grade with its graphic adventure game Freddi Fish 2: The Case of the Haunted Schoolhouse to create a package designed to stimulate the minds of youngsters while they have fun solving mysteries and learning new skills. As an added bonus, the Freddi Fish Notebook is included -- a small binder filled with activities for kids when they are offline.

In Freddi Fish 2, toys are disappearing from the fishes' underwater schoolhouse and it's up to Freddi and her pal Luther to find out who's behind it. Kids move from screen to screen, clicking various hotspots to speak with other characters, pick up items, or watch an amusing animation. Along the way they will get to visit a submarine, a sunken ship, and even the mystical city of Atlantis. If they want to take a break they can play a game of Crab Invaders or draw pictures and sing songs.

In Big Thinkers: First Grade, kids are guests at Ben and Becky's house. There are six rooms in the house, each with two or more activities centered on addition, subtraction, the parts of speech, fractions, spelling, and more. Kids get SmartStars every time they finish an activity or puzzle, which they put in the BrainBank. Once they have enough of stars, they can enter the Superstar of Smarts challenge to earn a printable certificate. Both titles are for one player only. ~ Brad Cook, All Game Guide
