Two-dimensional sprite adventuring makes a retro-comeback in Aaron Hall's Dungeon Odyssey, developed for Malfador Machinations by the designer of Space Empires IV, and published by the prolific online company Shrapnel Games. Requiring only 100MB of hard drive space, Dungeon Odyssey gives you full control over how your character develops as he or she wanders through an immense world fighting more than 40 monsters, collecting a multitude of items, managing 19 character attributes, honing skills, and casting spells.
Play as a Fighter, Thief, Paladin, Ranger, Mage, Priest, or Druid in a completely mod-friendly game designed using bitmaps for ease of mod building. Editable data text files, three guides (User, Modding, and Reference), a random world generator that guarantees no two games are ever the same, a main quest complemented by a host of smaller missions in each game, and freedom of choice in how to play your character highlight the action. As with many Shrapnel Games, Aaron Hall's Dungeon Odyssey is available via download from the official Internet site or by jewel case shipment order. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide
