The Aces of the Air offers three modes of play: Training, designed to introduce players to the featured planes and their controls, Career, which features a series of related missions designed around the player's character, and Multiplayer Network, which allows two or more pilots to fly together through the Internet or a local network. Players do battle above a thousand square miles of varied countryside featuring buildings, moving cars, anti-aircraft artillery, and other targets.
