A futuristic first-person RPG with 2D and 3D elements, Albion centers on an extremely long and engaging storyline that the company boasts to be around 150,000 words long. While most of the player's time is spent outdoors in a 3D display, when examining buildings and other areas of note the game switches into a close-up 2D perspective. Combat is handled from the 3D perspective, and involves the party of human controlled characters facing off against monsters in a turn-based fashion.

A simple, easy-to-use interface and online help allow players to get into the game quickly, and up to 100 games can be saved at any time, allowing the player to experiment without fear of losing key items, skills, or hints upon death. Auto-mapping functions aid in navigation, an important tool that will be of great use when exploring the huge world which makes up the venue of Albion. Saving this mysterious world is a monumental task, involving combat, puzzle-solving, spell-casting, and equipment acquisition, but with luck the player can succeed and save countless life forms from destruction. ~ Scott Steinberg, All Game Guide
