Assault Wings 1944 is a fast-paced combat flight sim with forgiving controls and challenging computer-controlled enemies. Missions include air-to-ground bombing runs and plane-versus-plane dogfights. The action takes place in three locations: The Arctic Sea, Siberia, and high above the clouds. Although set in the past, the game features futuristic weapons, including the "triple cannon" and the "mega ray." The game's backstory is also sky-high, as players lead an air strike to suppress the distribution of specially engineered mind-controlling vodka, created by an evil leader called "Stalin-bot," who is a genetic descendant of Joseph Stalin and the future Mir space station. ~ T.J.
