Recipient of numerous Game of the Year awards in 1998, Baldur's Gate took role-players to the Forgotten Realms world with a dazzling storyline set in the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons universe. Building on the initial success, Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast was released a year later to even more critical acclaim and expanded the territory that could be explored in the original game. Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga provides the two titles in one bundle.
The original game featured dynamic lighting, real-time environmental effects, six unique races, 26 classes and subclasses, and multiplayer support for up to six players on a LAN or the Internet. Tales of the Sword Coast enhanced gameplay with a quick save feature, undocumented tweaks and add-on capabilities (e.g., auto-pause, tinted magical items, increases in experience points), and Roger Wilco voice communication for online play.
Extras in the package include the original soundtrack, a limited-edition lithograph, and a full-color two-sided poster. Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga contains the final patched versions of both the original game and the expansion. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide
