Similar in concept to 1981's Joust, Balloon Fight has you tapping a button to gain altitude while trying to defeat enemies by "popping" their balloons (or parachutes) from above. Your character floats across the fixed-screen playing field on two balloons. Absorbing a hit will cause one of your balloons to pop until you eventually plummet into the water below. Other dangers include a jumping fish along the bottom of the screen, a spinning propeller, and lightning bolts that emanate from storm clouds. Game options include a two-player game, where both players appear on the same screen, and a "balloon trip" mode that has you trying to pop as many balloons as you can while avoiding obstacles. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
