Beginner's Guide to Jazz by RCA Victor takes up only one track of this CD-ROM and CD. More tracks are devoted to jazz music (twelve of them). The game portion is a section of pictures, text, and sound that covers jazz from its very beginning as Ragtime in the 1890s to the modern contemporary jazz and all the many sorts of jazz that appeared in between, including Bebop, Swing, Cool, Fusion, and many more.
Also included are twelve jazz tracks that can be played on your CD player or on your computer (provided you have CD-playing software). These are some of the most famous jazz tunes in history, such as "In the Mood" by Glenn Miller and his orchestra, "Mood Indigo" and "Take the A Train" by Duke Ellington and his orchestra, "Begin the Beguine" by Artie Shaw and his orchestra, and "Ain't Misbehavin'" by Fats Waller and his Rhythm. ~ Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game Guide
