Combining arcade-style action, hordes of mindless zombies, and a warped sense of humor, Burn, Zombie Burn! is designed to offer PlayStation Network gamers a simple but over-the-top shooter. Players take control of Bruce, a heavily armed grunt whose plan to spend a romantic evening with his girlfriend Daisy is destroyed by a rampaging army of zombies. The ultimate goal is to rack up as many points as possible by stringing together multiple kills and setting fire to the undead for multiplier bonuses. The challenge comes from the fact that burning zombies move much faster and stay alive for up to 30 seconds, so players must be judicious when starting a zombie inferno.

Gamers begin with a simple pistol and torch, but dead enemies sometimes drop more powerful weapons, including shotguns, chainsaws, explosives, melee weapons, and even the lobotomizing braingun. In addition, each of the six battle arenas features a large button that, when fully charged, can be pressed to unleash a devastating environmental attack. An "Arcade" mode gives solo players three different gameplay options, while "Challenge" mode offers gamers ten themed objectives.
