What we have here is another great 3DO title, and in a genre that is rarely seen anymore; the isometric action/shooter. Viewed from a third person perspective at an off-center angle, the view gives more variety to the landscape and lets the player see farther around them, a plus for fast action titles like Captain Quazar. Though it has some control issues, this is one top notch blaster with enough wackiness to get even the most jaded gamer smiling.

With a handful of various worlds, each extremely large and full of secrets, the game has a great diversity of colors, landscapes, and enemies. From the military compound filled with enemy troops to the alien world covered with bubbly green shrubery and cycloptic aliens, Captain Quazar has enough graphic diversity to keep you hooked for weeks.

Another wacky feature are enemy animations. Each world features a few different death sequences from the cartoony grave stones or the fleeing souls to the crumbling bones and bloated explosions of other destroyed enemies. Of course, this isn't some kiddy cartoon game. Oh no! Captain Quazar is long and challenging with a host of various mission objectives, an arsenal of formidable weapons, and those massive levels.

If you're a fan of action, blasting, and some wacky characters then track down Captain Quazar. It'll take a while to get used to the control but as soon as you do, you'll be running and blasting EVERYTHING in sight! ~ Shawn Sackenheim, All Game Guide
