Sports Interactive's popular soccer management simulation series, which began on the PC in 1992, makes its console debut with Championship Manager for the Xbox. One of the reasons cited for the PC to console migration was the added flexibility provided by the Xbox hard drive. Statistics and biographical information on over 100,000 players, managers, and coaches is included in this release, with support for up to three of the 26 included leagues being managed simultaneously.
New features specific to this version include updated photos, rules, and competitions to reflect the 2001-2002 season, as well as added management options such as scouting opposing teams, making notations on individual athletes, deciding which players to send under the knife, and appealing decisions to ban certain players. As in previous releases, the game is played using a series of text menus, charts, and lineup cards. Championship Manager is designed only to run on Xbox systems released in the European region. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
