Critter Crunch is a fast-paced action-puzzle game that combines the match-three mechanics of Bejeweled with the strafe-and-shoot intensity of Space Invaders. Players control a cute, round, long-tongued creature named Biggs, who sits in the jungle beneath a row of hanging vines. In column-like queues that form between the vertical vines, insects of three sizes descend slowly from above. If any of the insects make it to the forest floor, they'll attack Biggs and the level will be lost. In order to keep the dropping bugs from making it to the ground, Biggs feeds them to one another. Using his long tongue, he can grab a bug from the bottom of one descending column and move it to the bottom of another. When he places a small bug near a medium bug, the medium bug will eat the small bug. If he places a medium bug beside a large bug, the large bug will eat the medium bug. If a larger bug eats too many smaller bugs, it will pop. The game is played by rearranging the bugs in columns so they are either eaten, or overeat to the point of popping, and are removed from the board. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
