Cruis'n USA is a visually striking arcade-style racing game in which players cruise from city to city in competition against nine other cars on more than a dozen tracks. Three viewpoints are available: first-person, third-person and overhead. Select from a variety of high-powered vehicles, including a Stingray, a Ferrari, a Porsche, and a cherry-red roadster, each of which is equipped with manual or automatic transmission. Solo play is a little dull (not to mention easy), but two-player action (via linked machines) revs up the fun factor. The game was released in three types of cabinets: upright, standard sit-down and a special type of sit-down unit mounted on motion-inducing hydraulic lifters. Though highly popular with arcade denizens, Cruis'n USA was not a critical success and broke no new ground in the racing genre. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
