Description taken from Commodore 64/128 version of this game

Double Dare combines trivia with mini action games. The objective of the game is to have the most money at the end of the game. Players gain money through answering questions correctly or completing a physical challenge.

One player is asked a question first. They have the opportunity to answer or to Dare. When they Dare the question goes to the other player giving them the opportunity to answer or to Double Dare. When a Double Dare occurs the question goes back to the first player. Now they can choose to answer the question that is worth more money than the first time or attempt a physical challenge.

Physical challenges can be anything, from hitting golf balls to tossing pies. Each challenge has its own objective that must be completed before the time runs out. The final round is made up of an obstacle course. Players maneuver through the course while controlling a balance bar. Balance bar indicators must be kept in the center in order to keep the character at their maximum speed. In order to win the obstacle course all of the flags must be grabbed before the time runs out. ~ Jonathan Sutyak, All Game Guide
