Fun With 100 Words helps emerging readers between the ages of three and seven to learn to recognize 100 common words as part of the foundation they will need to learn how to read.

Penelope Pupil and her dog Fritz guide the child through eight subject areas. Their objectives are to teach the child to: know the meanings and associations of all 100 words; match the words with the correct pictures; spell the words correctly; and read the words correctly. They accomplish this using nothing but spoken commands and the mouse.

Learn and Play are the two activities available in the course. In the Learn area, children learn to use vocabulary words in subject areas such as the body, animals, and nature. In Play, they match words to pictures (and vice-versa) and fill in the missing letter.

Animations reward correct answers, and Fritz is always on hand to help out when kids get stuck. ~ Brad Cook, All Game Guide
