Description taken from PC version of this game

When you start a game of Hoyle Poker you are presented with an FMV that sets the scene for the game. Following this, the game comes to a screen showing a picture of a shadow. The player can select to be either a male or female, and can either make a new user, or choose from one already made. The player can then choose a type of game that they want to play (from 5 - card draw to Texas Hold 'em), and can choose the stakes that they play for. It ranges from a $10 - $100 table all the way up to a $100,000 table. Obviously, with the higher stakes, the difficulty is also higher. Once the options have been set, the games begin. The player is given a $10,000 purse, with a few extra thousand in the ATM, which they can visit at any time. The table itself has eight people's faces, the player's opponents. Depending on the situation, the opponents make comments. These range from threats to attempts at humor to simple trash - talking. The game itself changes as per the type of game. All the standard rules are followed and multiple decks of cards are used to keep the game as random as possible. ~ Mark Kanarick, All Game Guide
