  • Overall

The lesser of the two NES games inspired by the 1989 film, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade has potential as a platformer but is ruined by its frustrating difficulty level. The main problem is that Indy is a real lightweight, barely able to withstand a few hits before crumpling over. Given the fact your enemies can throw knives before you even get your whip, it's very hard to progress without extreme persistence. And if that weren't enough, you also have to deal with an annoying time limit. The graphics are large and relatively detailed, but have a strange monochromatic quality -- Indy is rendered entirely in shades of pink, while enemies and the background are made up of shades of orange and yellow. ~ Skyler Miller, All Game Guide
