Set on the fantastical sci-fi planet of Pandora, James Cameron's Avatar: The Game is a third-person adventure with stealth and flying elements. A prequel to the movie, set two years earlier, Avatar: The Game follows its own original storyline. Humans have come to the planet to harvest valuable minerals. They find themselves at war with the dominant native species, the Na'vi, a humanoid race of great size and strength but only stone-age technological development. Players take on the role of a Na'vi warrior, using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to swing a large stick and wield a bow and arrow when combating humans from the Resource Development Agency, or "RDA." But because the human technology dwarfs that of the Na'vi, gamers must frequently use camouflage and cunning to sneak behind the RDA for stealth attacks. There are 13 levels in all, with the gameplay split between third-person action and levels in which players soar through the sky on the back of a pterodactyl-like Ikran, and multiplayer fans can join a friend for local co-op action. ~ All Game Guide
