Based on Jim Henson Television's popular 1999 children's television show on the Disney Channel, Bear in the Big Blue House. This interactive learning adventure puts you right inside the Big Blue House with just a click of the mouse! Join Bear and his friends, Pip, Pop, Ojo, Snowbear, and Treelo, as you explore over twenty activities, and discover the meaning of the five senses--sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste.
When the game begins you will need to sign your name and enter your birthday in front of Bear's Big Blue House. You can then start your visit, pick a path, and begin exploring the house! Once inside you will encounter Bear and his friends. There are five adventures that can be accessed by clicking on any of the characters. Pip and Pop need help making their famous clam dip (learn about the sense of taste), Ojo needs helps building a house for her friend Snowbear (learn about the sense of touch), Treelo needs help making music (learn about the sense of hearing), Tutter needs help redecorating (learn about the sense of sight), and you can also help Bear make a tripleberry pie while learning about the sense of smell. You will collect stories from Bear each time you complete an adventure. These will be collected in your storybook that can be accessed through the tool bar.
In addition to the five adventures, there are other games and activities that you can play in Bear's house. These include Pip and Pop's Kitchen Concentration, Touching Stories, Follow Bear's Nose, Sound Creatures, and Tutter's Cheese Maze. You should also keep your eyes open for berries that are scattered throughout the house, you need to collect these to help Bear make his tripleberry pie.
While exploring the Big Blue House, watch your cursor. It will change shape as you move the mouse around the screens. An Arrow means you can move to a different part of the room (left, right, or straight ahead), a Magnifying Glass means that you can take a closer look at that part of the room or go to a game, and a Yellow Paw means that you can interact with the object or get information from one of the characters. You can also move the cursor to the bottom of the screen to bring up the tool bar.
The game includes eight songs (six original, plus two from the television show), two modes of play (Mission and Free Play), 3D graphics, live-action video, and a printable storybook. This game of social interaction was designed to encourage children to think creatively; solve problems; use their imagination; build self-awareness, self-esteem, and friendships; and help others.
