Mac Action Games is a five-game compilation spanning several genres -- racing, pinball, gambling, giant robot combat and adventure. The five products included were released during the time frame 1995 to 1998. Compiled and distributed by Encore Software, Mac Action Games contains games developed by several companies (see individual games below) and features multi-player (LAN and Internet) support for one of the five games.

The multi-player option is found in Marathon 2: Durandal, a science fiction based shooter by Bungie Software. The story in a nutshell: you must save the galaxy from total annihilation. In this futuristic combat arena, you'll search for a lost clan and discover long-buried secrets, use high-tech weaponry and fight ancient, ferocious enemies from a first-person perspective. In this sequel to Marathon, you must escape the clutches of the rogue computer Durandal and save the galaxy!

In Maxis' Full Tilt! Pinball, you're given the option of three tables: Space Cadet, Skulduggery and Dragon's Keep. All the familiar bells and whistles, sounds, bumpers, flashing lights, fast-paced action, ramps, curls and more await you in this pinball arcade simulation.

Vegas Casino from Beachware includes six types of slots, two versions of poker, Keno and blackjack. A supply of virtual cash is as near as the Automatic Cash Machine -- but, you may have to pawn your shoes, watch, car or even your house. The game includes an option to print virtual money and contains background piano bar music.

Jump into the future, the year 3057 in fact, and enter a universe filled with warring clans, bitter fighting and never-ending combat. Activision's MechWarrior 2 provides multiple difficulty settings as well as various adjustment options such as unlimited ammunition, no collision damage and invulnerability in more than 50 missions. An in-game help system gives forth documentation on combat and pre-launch protocol, Trials of Grievance, weapons and BattleMech configurations in this giant robot combat simulation.

Finally, for the speed demon, Al Unser, Jr. Arcade Racing from Mindscape zooms onto your Macintosh with 15 courses and multiple adjustable options. Included are choices of manual or automatic gears, three difficulty levels (beginner, normal or hard), joystick or keyboard control, type of music, type of car, language and graphic display adjustments. Three modes of racing are available: championship (season covers all 15 tracks), timed and practice.
