Although it lacks the graphical detail of its arcade counterpart, Mario Bros. for the Atari VCS captures the basic elements of the original, including bonus rounds, a POW button, two-player simultaneous mode, and all the various creatures. Coins are square, platforms don't bend when you head-butt them, and pipes are flat in appearance, but Mario and Luigi are nicely drawn. Even the crabs are well animated and move in similar patterns as their coin-op cousins. There are other nits to pick (such as limited fireball movement), but it remains a solid port of a fun game. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
