Mario expands his impressive sports portfolio with this arcade-style take on basketball for Nintendo DS. The 3D action is displayed on the top screen with the camera set behind one of three controllable teammates, including Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Wario, and other Nintendo mainstays. Each animated athlete dribbles the ball via directional pad, while shots, steals, jumps, passes, and special moves are all performed using the touch-screen interface.

Tapping or sliding the stylus in various directions across the screen initiates moves on both offense and defense. Players will also acquire such offbeat power-ups as red koopa shells or bob-ombs to shake up their opposition. The goal is not only to score points, but to also collect as many coins as possible while competing on an assortment of themed courts from the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond.
