Mean Girls: High School Showdown takes the expanded "match-three" dynamic of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords and applies it to the rough-and-tumble world of high school socializing, where kids don't battle goblins, skeletons, and giant rats, but instead duel with jocks, rebels, and giant nerds. The turn-based battles have players moving high-school-themed objects, such as lipstick, shoes, and mirrors, in order to create matches of three or more. As in Puzzle Quest, gamers can also use special skills to turn the tide of battle, though in the case of Mean Girls, the skills take on the form of rumors, pranks, and putdowns rather than magic spells. The ultimate goal of the game is to bring down the mightiest clique of them all, the conniving and vindictive "Plastics," and bring peace back to the hallways and classrooms. ~ Christopher Brown, All Game Guide
