Set in the year 2054, Minority Report tells of John Anderton, a pre-crime officer and one of a team of law enforcers tasked with arresting perpetrators before they actually commit a crime. Players assume the role of John, who, after having been accused of a pre-murder, must make his way through environments reminiscent of those from the 2002 movie upon which the game is based.

Populating each of the game's ten levels are throngs of enemies, both human and mechanical, as well as innocent bystanders. John can stave off the attacks of the former by utilizing one of six different weapons -- gel pistol, concussion gun, and flash grenades, among others -- acquired on his journey. To help with the assault, an on-screen reticule can be cycled through all available targets, but players will need to avoid shooting civilians, as this will result in the loss of one of John's lives.

Additionally, particular objects within each environment can be utilized as a rudimentary form of cover, allowing players to target threats while behind the relative safety of a trash can, for example. Defeated enemies will yield helpful items such as health and ammunition to aid you in your quest. Interspersed between the side-scrolling action is a single level in which players are outfitted with a jetpack in order to facilitate high-speed combat. Still scenes are used throughout the title and reveal pertinent information while advancing the plot. ~ All Game Guide
