Released in honor of the 75th anniversary of the novel series that introduced the plucky teen sleuth, this compilation features five mystery adventure games from Her Interactive's popular Nancy Drew series. Included are Stay Tuned for Danger (1999), Message in a Haunted Mansion (2000), Secrets Can Kill (2001), Treasure in the Royal Tower (2001), and The Final Scene (2001).
In Stay Tuned for Danger, dreamy soap opera star Rick Arlen is receiving death threats. Strange, bizarre, scary death threats. To get a better look at this mystery, Nancy goes undercover as an extra on Arlen's show, "Light of Our Love."
Message in a Haunted Mansion finds Nancy in San Francisco, where she's helping with the restoration of an old mansion, but can't help but become interested in all of the suspicious accidents that have occurred recently. Are they really just accidents, or is someone attempting to sabotage the restoration? Could the mansion actually be haunted?
Nancy visits her aunt in Secrets Can Kill. Aunt Eloise is a librarian, and she lives near the high school where an unpopular student named Jake Rogers was killed. Nancy visits the school, and other places in town, as she investigates what appears to have been a terrible murder.
In Treasure in the Royal Tower, Nancy is on a skiing holiday at Wickford Castle, an old resort built in the 1920s. It seems that previous resident Ezra Wickford may have hidden a secret treasure somewhere in the castle, and this hint of mystery is all it takes to spark Nancy's healthy sense of curiosity.
Time is of the essence in The Final Scene, where one of Nancy's friends has been kidnapped and is being held in a run-down old playhouse. The theatre is scheduled to be demolished, imminently, so she must call upon all her skills of perception, logic, and intuition to save her friend before it's too late.
The Nancy Drew series of graphic adventure games feature an intuitive, point-and-click interface designed to make it easy to question other characters and search a scene for clues. The games also feature a "Second Chance" option that allows players to try different approaches to solving the mysteries without worrying too much about making mistakes. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
