Designed by Eugene Jarvis (of Defender fame) during the height of the "War on Drugs," Narc is a fun (if mindless) side-scrolling game that puts players in the role of a drug enforcement agent armed with a submachine gun and a rocket launcher. In most levels, players kill attack dogs, kill or arrest drug dealers and junkies, and pick up drugs, ammo and cash dropped by criminals. There are also scenes that involve driving a sports car. Narc was the first arcade game to utilize a 32-bit processor, giving it smooth, realistic graphics. Sound effects are above average, but background music is somewhat bland. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
