NBA Maximum Hang Time is a two-on-two basketball simulation which uses real
NBA teams and real NBA players. While most NBA players from the 1995-1996 NBA
season are represented, certain notable superstars including Michael Jordan and
Shaquille O'Neal refused to allow Midway to use their likenesses for the game.

NBA Maximum Hang Time is a game similar to NBA Jam. There are no called
fouls. There are no boundaries. The only violations left in the game are goaltending and
shot clock violations. NBA Maximum Hang Time offers extended rosters with
between 20 and 30 player combinations per team. Players are capable of unrealistic slam
dunks, alley oops, knockdown steals, and high-jumping rebounds.

NBA Maximum Hang Time allows players to enter their initials so that they can
continue play on differing days (provided the game console remains connected to a power
source) against different teams. NBA Maximum Hang Time also allows players to
construct their own characters using predesigned heads, bodies, and uniforms. Finally,
NBA Maximum Hang Time allows players to choose whether they want to play on an
indoor court or an outdoor court. Outdoor courts come complete with metal chain nets.

The object of NBA Maximum Hang Time is to defeat all other 29 NBA teams. Secret
power-ups and rosters are revealed to those who accomplish that goal. ~ Anthony Baize, All Game Guide
