Fans of spinach-powered sailors and golden-age arcade games have a heart, in the mobile rendition of Popeye. As in the early-'80s coin-op classic, players control the lovesick sailor-man as he runs up and down the steps and ladders of fixed-screen levels, following the movements of Olive Oyl. Olive drops hearts and other items from above that Popeye can catch. To win, he must collect enough hearts (or other objects, depending on the level) to fill a meter at the top of the screen. When Popeye's rival Bluto shows up, he's to be avoided, as a punch from him will end Popeye's chance. The Sea Hag appears later to cause trouble as well. However, when he's fueled up from a can of spinach, Popeye's got the power to knock his enemies off the screen. The mobile version of the game offers enhanced graphics, additional play settings, and cameo appearances by other characters from the Popeye cartoons. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
