The first rendition of Silent Hill for mobile devices brings Konami's signature brand of interactive horror-story telling to the smallest screens. As in the many popular console editions of the game, a repressive, unsettling atmosphere torques tension and uncertainty. Players explore a spooky, abandoned orphanage in the role of one of its former inhabitants, Ben, who lived there 30 years earlier. In terms of play mechanics, the game works like a basic graphic adventure. Players use a cursor to navigate from one scene to the next, picking up clues, inventory items, and the occasional startling shock as they move through the abandoned dormitories. When evil incarnates out of the haze, Ben can pull out his pistol and blast away. The big gun is not the easiest to aim, however, and it packs a heck of a kickback, making self-defense all the more frantic an experience. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
