Take command of the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi -- Death Star Battle. Your mission is that of Lando Calrissian's in the movie: Destroy the Death Star before the Empire can complete its construction and crush the Rebellion once and for all.
Before attacking the Death Star itself, you must shoot down a swarm of TIE interceptors while waiting for a random opening in the Death Star's energy shield. After you've progressed through the opening, your ship closes in on the Death Star as you proceed to chip away at the deadly space station in a Breakout-style of attack. You also must avoid the attacks of TIEs, Imperial shuttles and the Death Star's own superlaser.
After you've worked your way through the battle station's exterior, blast away at the core to destroy it once and for all. But watch out! Even though you've proven yourself a hero, you still must dodge the burning shrapnel expelled from the exploding mass in order to escape alive. After you've destroyed the Death Star the first time, the action starts over from the beginning -- only much harder.
The game provides the option for you to start at either the beginning or advanced level. Also available are difficulty switches. Move the left switch to either ram TIEs with impunity or destroy the Millennium Falcon upon mere contact with the enemy. Then, activate the right switch to determine whether the superlaser blasts away at the width of the Death Star or across the entire screen. ~ Michael Schwartz/Joan Dykman, All Game Guide
