Sudoku Ball Detective combines a selection of grid-based number puzzles with a murder-mystery graphic adventure. As in sudoku puzzles found in books, newspapers, and other video games, the object is to fill in empty boxes on a grid with numerals. Players use logic to deduce the correct numeral to place in each box, according to the way the other boxes are already filled in -- in standard puzzles, each numeral appears only once in any row, column, or box of the grid. With Sudoku Ball, the puzzles are wrapped around a three-dimensional globe that players can rotate. In the Wii edition, players navigate the game and enter numbers into the puzzles with the Wii Remote, through cursor controls. In the game's story mode, puzzles are tied together with a mystery storyline, presented in a style reminiscent of a Sherlock Holmes adventure or an Agatha Christie novel. Solving sudoku puzzles found near the crime scene reveals clues and evidence that can help players solve the mystery. In addition to the puzzles featured in the 20-level mystery adventure, the game offers stand-alone puzzles and other modes of number-crunching play. Three difficulty settings are available, to accommodate players of a wide range of gaming skill and experience. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
