Like other titles in the series, Electronic Arts' Super BoulderDash features a number of worlds with various sub-levels, enemies and loads of boulder action. The goal is to collect a number of stones and create a trail through the dirt. There is one small problem: Boulders abound!

When the innocent treasure hunter walks under a boulder, it will fall. If he's crushed under one of these massive rocks, it's all over. While there are lone boulders, some levels contain massive chain boulders. When the dirt is hollowed out, it will start a chain reaction and a number of boulders will come tumbling down. Some boulders will follow each other and move on the hollowed path.

Aside from boulders, there are all kinds of enemies that chase the character around. There are boxes that will cause the treasure hunter's demise if touched. Nine out of ten times, however, these enemies must be freed from their dirt enclosure, since enemies are often confined in small niches or around a number of boulders. While the enemies won't attack until freed, the treasure hunter often has to clear dirt near their area.

When the enemies have been freed, it's time to run away or lure them under boulders. In the latter situation, the foe will be crushed and killed. Time is also of the essence. Each level contains a time that is located at the top of the screen. In order to complete the level, one must snatch all the shimmering stones and find an exit before time runs out. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
