Developed by Sega, The House of the Dead is a light gun shoot-'em-up. The mad Doctor Curien, who is being funded by the government, has discovered a way to raise the dead. Taking on the role of a secret agent you must blast your way into Curien's gothic lab, save the innocent scientists within, and mow down hordes and hordes of angry zombies. With location-based hits, you can make those shots to the head count!

A translation of the arcade game, this Saturn version contains extra play modes and new characters. Modes of play include: Arcade, Saturn, and Boss. Arcade mode follows the arcade version providing only two characters for selection, Rogan or the mysterious G. Saturn mode introduces a number of new characters who vary in such characteristics as life meter and reload time.
