"The Olsen & Olsen Mystery Agency will solve any crime by dinner time!" So claim sleuths Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the plucky twins who run the agency. It will be up to you to help them live up to those words. Join Mary-Kate, Ashley, and their dog Clue in The New Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley. Take on five cases that involve collecting clues and dodging enemies and obstacles. Some of the enemies you will encounter include cats, bears, ghosts, spiders, and vampires.

You can play as Mary-Kate, Ashley, or Clue by switching between the three using the "Select" button. Each character has unique abilities. Mary-Kate can jump high and boost others to reach new levels. Ashley can throw Clue and flip switches. Clue can swim, be used as a platform, or ridden upon. Power-ups grant access to new areas and add bonus points.

Each of the five cases spans ten levels. To crack the case, the young detectives must collect clues. Each clue is broken into three individual parts scattered somewhere within a level. Collecting all three pieces will reveal an onscreen hint, indicating the location of a switch that will unlock a puzzle piece to complete the level.
