The Star Trek Encyclopedia Version 3.0 includes everything you could ever want to know about the Star Trek universe, and is newly updated with information about the final seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and episodes of Star Trek: Voyager

The program includes two CD-Roms, one called "Home," which contains the installation program and some video and sound clips, and a second CD-Rom labelled "Video" that contains most of the video clips and some audio clips.

Information contained on these CD-Roms includes information on characters, episodes, peoples (such as the Iconians), types of technology, types of food items, and a great deal more. Players are not limited to the lists of entries given in the database, but can create their own lists of entries, such as anything connected with the character of Data. This will bring up a list of entries as varied as Spot; his cat, Lal; his daughter, Tasha Yar; and a list of episodes with Data in them.
